Foreclosure filings increase in Florida (Updated with more bad news)

Remember hearing something about the big banks giving homeowners a three month break while Obama’s foreclosure relief plan got worked out.  You’ll never believe what happened:

“Florida had the highest number of preforeclosure filings in the month of February, according to a report from Foreclosures.com.

The state had 53,173 preforeclosures in February, up 23.5 percent from the 43,070 reported in January and 5 percent higher than the 50,633 in December.”

Relief is still a long way off.

Update: Unfortunately, this is not just a Florida problem.  Foreclosure filings are up 30% nationwide.
