Non-judicial Foreclosures in Florida

Obviously, you would expect a bill titled “The Florida Consumer Protection and Homeowner Credit Rehabilitation Act” to protect and help consumers.  This is Florida, so you’re wrong.  The referenced bill, which is being pushed by the bank lobby, hopes to end the process of judicial foreclosure and start non-judicial foreclosure, where the banks can seize properties within 90 days.  Also, it would scrap the new mediation the Florida Supreme Court recently ordered.  In other words, no consumer protection.

It’s unfortunate that banks have as much power as they do. I’m defending myself against Bank of NY Mellon in a foreclosure case now. It’s extremely intimidating but I have no choice as hiring a lawyer is expensive and I’m broke as a result of lending practices that went unregulated in 2005. I wish there were more resources available to honest, hard-working people like myself who were duped by loan originators and have to resort to their own defense. Do you know of any such places in Miami where I can go for assistance? I make too much money to qualify for many programs and not enough money to hire a lawyer.

Try to call Legal Services @ 305 438-2530, I contacted them but was over the asset amt to help me. Or try 305 576-0080 their main phone # and they will qualify you to speak to an attorney. Hope this helps…it’s a bloodbath out there!! GOOD LUCK…
